bitter hollow breeze

the bitter breeze of winter
reminds me of you

not that you were bitter
you were one of the few
who brought such comfort
of a warm breeze
playing with autumn leaves
and the snarky breeze
tossling my hair
messing with me
bringing me joy
in all the right ways

but these days
these nights
without you here
leaves the breeze
vacant for want of you
empty without your voice
it is a hollow breeze
without the unicorn dust
that was the twinkle
in your eyes

the bitter breeze of winter
the hollow season without you
clouds my mind
eats at my heart and soul
and yet
remembrances of you
all i have now
warm me again
at least
a little
