scripturient scribbles
scrawled across the pages
pulled from wells within the soul
some fresh, some buried for ages

as i dip the ladle in
the crockpot of my mind
sometimes the soup is stocky
but often the broth is thin

stirring the soul-soup
could make insipid goop
but once in a while
the ladle shows some style

whether i splash or spill
soul-soup upon the page
or carefully fill my quill
it could induce joy or rage

writing with passion
isn’t always in fashion
forgotten in a flash
garnering no cash

but dip in ladle and quill
share the sweetness and swill
hone your scripturient skill
for your soul shall never be still
