verdant vestiges

i heard it whispered
on the evening wind
i caught a glimmer
as the day waned thin
after all these years
your voice still echos
within thatched branches
In shadowed grottos

your gentle passion
that fiery grace
flamboyant fashion
smartly grinning face
after your passing
we would see the birds
glimmers still flashing
wind whispers your words

stamped in memories
imprinted margins
still tell their stories
through feathers and fins
you dwell in gardens
verdant vestiges
linger still as whispers
uttered in the breezes
