breakfast moon

from nested dreams

i climb awake

while scattered leaves

from dreamfall rake

from shuttered eyes

i peer at last

and with your beauty

break my fast

morning so serene

oh sweet selene

breakfast for my eyes

you loom low in dark skies

on lunar light i feast

first breakfast for my eyes

visual treats to entice

your glow to tantalize

of sweet selene i am fond

remember you throughout my day

through second breakfast and beyond

within your afterglow i stay

from the daytime sky you hide

to other admirers you ride

around the world bestow your glow

it’s a phase through which we flow

i hope to see you again tonight

and bask in your full moon light

oh sweet selene, when you wane

i hope you’re back for a refrain
