wall wizard

i saw a wizard

on the wall

a prophet’s ransom

they did haul

as the wizard

began to crawl

i could not fly

they did not fall

surefooted wizard

time did stall

wrapped the light

in evening shawl

the wizard’s tale

is wrapped up tight

with rubied mysteries

of intrepid night

then they were gone

without a trace

except this memory

in my mind to race

if ever this wizard

should pass this way

i hope to entreat

that soul to stay
