cibachrome

every glint of the original
preserved in polyester seminal
no matter where you would roam
you cast your memories in cibachrome

from the time of your arrival
you planned for the archival
your craft you would surely hone
your legacy etched in stone

days of unicorns and dragons for you
but no monochrome dragons would do
your corneas had a cerulean tint
irises of the infinite would hint

into the chilly dawn you’d get crackin’
armed with tentacles of dismembered kraken
bringer of balance, bestower of brilliance
others tried to replicate any tiny semblance

you remain crisp by any reckoning
while my own images are weakening
through the years i feel you beaconing
your crisp cibachrome still beckoning
