great grey sky

Nota Bena: I make it a habit to not recycle poems, yet while I mull my current poem-in-progress, here is a little ditty I wrote circa January 18, 2010. Enjoy!

— — —

now that spring has sprung
sowing songs are sung

gentle rains bless thirsty soil
great grey sky shades our toil

gardens crying for seeds
eager keeper heeds
what the garden needs
time to cull the weeds

coriandrum conundrum
calling for cultivation

basil begs to become bushy
but bees bring better blossoms

let them sing their pleas
be planted far from the peas

all hail the marigolds
they shall watch as spring unfolds
