golden dragon

as the gong tolled
a song of three sticks
at the gate i arrived
of the tower of three wicks
to dear rabbits three
i bid adieu
yet still
alive
within my mind
images of you

your four wings
each art awakened
their golden webs
hearts eye has taken

night air sings
you gracefully return
magnificence you bring
rest upon my lantern

oh beauteous sight
as orpheus’ oarsmen
upon this chalice of light
oh wings of golden dragon

your lyric rhythms
of wings upon starlit sky
resound as hymns
to all who want to fly

dear golden dragon
with graceful dancing
your tail a threaded bodkin
weaves its painless lancing

draw the tapestry of night
dragon with golden wings
delights with dartful flight
decants the souls outpourings

rest ye well oh golden one
upon my lampen lantern
for soon comes the golden sun
and with it summer’s oven
