blessed knell

your rambling rumblings
ignite the fires of my soul
you make me ache
as diamonds ache for coal

within the black of night
your swirling darkness
hides the accreting pearl
steals the sky’s harness

with thunderous emotion
the night you own in spades
and my hearts they beat
to the rhythm of your raid

the moist sheen of your kiss
crackles upon my parched lips
all sense of real and illusion
beyond the veil swiftly slips

to this ignorance awakened
knowledge of enduring thirst
your rumbling enquakened
dispelled my dreaming erst

falling from the jungle
of one dream into the next
spelunked the concaved
climbed the convexed

whet my thirst piqued this hunger
seduced into this spell i’m under
one taste has left me wanting more
i check the door and stare in wonder

your thunder knocks late at nite
your rain like hallowe’en at the bell
sweet scent of creosote a delight
desert raindrops a blessed knell
