dear mother
am i a bad child
problematic or wild
or have i learned
given respect you’ve earned

blessed mother
effortless illusion
your constant toiled garden
i hang upon your apron
mess your majestic mansion

beloved mother
have i misunderstood
lost within your wood
only set aside a single day
while in your kitchen i play

precious mother
you taught me to befriend
yet so often i offend
i shall make amends
avoid that which rends

oh patient mother
i need to one my eyes
work to keep these blue skies
i hope it is not too late
to save you from a horrid fate

dear gaia
thank you for this life
i shall keep your bounty rife
give more than i take
for now i’ve rocks to rake
