marmalade rose

you gave me a marmalade rose
all the colors of garden koi
at the temple of prose

placed upon the altar of gaia
contrails of hummingbirds hovering
in the breath of brahma

reflections of lotus blossoms
floating with pads in blackened pond
reveal a thousand fathoms

voices painted in ripples
calling from the darkened depths
suckling on natures nipples

endeavor to listen
to the murmurs within my heart
gems forged there glisten

enjoy the warmth of the kiln
of the fire within my heart
its fiery broth overspiln

you gave me a marmalade rose
the koi swim the sea of my soul
and i have become one of those
