hopped up on helicopters

hopped up on helicopters
zooming through diopters
focus on a moment in time
clocking rotors landing on a dime

juggling lift and levity
laughing large at gravity
endearing sky in amity
balanced by its brevity

hopped up on helicopters
singing like doo-woppers
wound up like an enzyme
zealous for each dive and climb

learning to steer and hover
like a fledgling weaned from mother
one hop flopped try another
blades purr and whir in a blur

ever seeking equilibrium
amidst the constant stir and hum
one with sky the windy tempest
once in a spin shall never rest
