arrival of springtide

the arrival of springtide
sweet acacia dears
is ushered in by your pom-poms

these past several days
have seen thirty-five C
a pleasant warming from winter

the seasons may change
but the truth still remains
your fragrance lingers forever

like tangerines tangoed
or puffs ultramangoed
toasty pom-poms dance with my senses

many long years ago
when your buds would first show
a craving was born deep inside me

and now every spring
my toes curl and sing
as your scent signals sweet springtide
