Happy Solstice!

Happy Solstice!
Happy transit of Venus (for Cassini and Saturnites; ours was back in June)!

And… the moment so many have been waiting for: Happy Mayan Long Count 13.0.0.0.0!
May the fourteenth b’ak’tun treat you well!

I hope that the 13th b’ak’tun has been good to you. Now would be a good time to learn to count in vigesimal (and octadecimal) or even sexigesimal.
Just a few minutes after the solstice at 2456282.966666, today is day 2456283 in the standard Julian date epoch. The next Mayan B’ak’tun will begin 144,000 days from now on day 2600283. In case you and I are around then, let me know, and we can arrange a party!
