venusian smile

this morning on your face
you wore such a lovely smile
an outline i could trace
stare at you get lost a while

dancing with the trees
wiggly in the knees
your smile effuses pleas
a thousand rocket’s tease

glad i also got a peek
cute mole upon your cheek
voluptuous venusian antifreckle
until i heard dear dawn cackle

when you fade into the light
in my heart you’re still glowing bright
both leading on the sun
a race that’s never won

then i saw another cereus
made me giddy and delirious
perhaps the third is the charm
inviting all our hearts to warm
