breakfast croissant

my morning croissant awaits me
dangling on its enduring hook
not the variety with butter or cheese
not to eat but oh how i love to look

set astride my breakfast stars
munching on them construed as abuse
not like toast the toaster always chars
but to become one as my nuclei fuse

cutely curled curvaceous croissant
to gaze at you so full of want
although you’re magnitudes staler than dust
to gaze upon you fills me with lust

as i mentally munch my breakfast croissant
eating you would never make me gaunt
photonic calories hung in galleries
weave through my mind like tangled ivies
