PEMDAS

please excuse my dear aunt sally
she’s been driving in a rally
drove straight through your precious garden
mowed more roses than I can tally

standing amidst the evidence’s precinct
ancient pares picked a pair of pears
not sure how the pare went extinct
so she cooked up a
pare end thesis

pairs of pares always stick together
nested neatly nestled neatly
evaluated completely
pare end thesis a done endeavor

please excuse my dear aunt sally
she’s been driving in a rally
now she’s raised the bar
from pole position the goal ain’t far

tires digging with anticipation
found a monster called a pone
nothing left but a bone
ex-pone ends elation

dug it up with a pulley
luckily it wasn’t wooly
but dear aunt sally in a hurry
head to toe became quite sullied

but next ambivalent aunt sally
could not choose my dear
to multiply her profits
or divide the loot amongst her pockets

so both she did
while the spectators hid
obsessed with factors left to right
ignoring terms of engagement and their plight

at last she came across an alley
in the middle of the valley
it was then she began to slalom
snagging every pro and con

she took them all
on her own terms
pluses and minuses
subtracting some adding sum

even as the wind grew squally
she had run the course quite wholly
and in the end the judge, aunt molly
gave the prize to dear aunt sally

but please excuse my dear aunt sally
she’s been driving in a rally
she needs to be evaluated
yet won by the rules totally

i phoned home right away
but only got the operator
presidents set precedents
i’m left with precedence
and fifty cents
